Stop the Re-Zone that will overdevelop our community.

About Sherwood

Sherwood is an area of Titusville, Florida in Brevard County. The area consists of several neighborhoods and streets that surround the Sherwood Golf Course. A developer is planning to rezone the golf course and develop zero-lot line homes, townhomes and condos.

We are here representing not only the homeowners of Sherwood but most of the homeowners surrounding Sherwood also.  This includes Lantern Park, Sherwood Lakes, Sherwood Park, Sherwood Estates, Sherwood Villas, Eagle Pointe, and Birchwood Forest Neighborhoods, the Sherwood Forrest Townhomes as well as the Fairway Woods and Nottingham Apartments.

  1. Negative impacts from building dense housing inside Sherwood:
    1. Infrastructure is not capable of supporting the expansion (roads, schools, water sewer)
    2. Most roads in Sherwood area are one way in and one way out. Adding all of these additional homes can cause a safety hazard for emergency vehicle entering or leaving the community.
    3. Cost drop in home prices for people living on golf course ( don’t let one company make a lot of money at the expense of a lot of people)
    4. Flooding risk: if you assume a 60 percent build out 24 inches above the crown of the road (Higher than existing houses) that would be approximately 271,542 gallons of water per acre that would have to be dealt with.  Golf course is roughly 91 acres for a total of 24,710,400 from a storm like Ian.  We have already had flooding issues this would just exacerbate it greatly
    5. Loss of green space
    6. The front nine deed was deeded for golf course use only never to build home on
    7. People have singed and paid for life time membership
  2. We would like to work together with the owner, the developer and most importantly the Sherwood homeowners and surrounding neighbors.   We would like to explore a combination of the following:
    1. Homes built on portion of the community land
    2. Royal Oak ministry for single mothers and community
    3. People that live on the golf course buy the property behind their houses
    4. County purchasing a portion of golf course for park/drainage/green space
    5. Other options..
